Hot-rolled is the basic structural material for underbodies, door impact beams, and wheel and frame applications. Available in a variety of thickness and strength levels, hot-rolled is used where strength, weldability and low cost are more important than low mass and corrosion resistance. Hot-rolled coils and sheets can be further processed through cold reduction into cold-rolled coils and sheets.
